Coral Bay 2 is a beginner-friendly dive site near Koh Rong island in Cambodia, located in a sheltered bay where calm conditions prevail year-round. The site features a sandy slope decorated with coral formations that have developed naturally in the protected waters. Hard corals are the main attraction, with healthy colonies of branching, massive, and encrusting species providing shelter for a growing fish community. Schools of damselfish hover over the coral heads, while gobies and blennies occupy the smaller crevices. Anemones with their clownfish residents add splashes of color throughout. The sandy bottom between formations hosts flatfish, sand-dwelling gobies with their shrimp partners, and occasional cuttlefish. The bay's protection from wind and waves makes it an ideal spot for training dives and snorkeling, offering a gentle introduction to the tropical marine life of Cambodia's Gulf of Thailand coastline.
