Tug 2 is an advanced wreck dive off Malta's east coast, where a small harbour tugboat rests on the seabed. This compact wreck provides an intimate wreck diving experience that complements the larger vessel wrecks in Malta's extensive collection. The tugboat sits on the sandy bottom with its sturdy hull and wheelhouse creating a recognisable profile. The tug's compact dimensions mean the entire vessel can be explored during a single dive, with the wheelhouse, engine room, and deck areas all accessible. The vessel's robust construction has helped it maintain structural integrity despite years of submersion. Marine colonisation has been progressive, with the tug now supporting a healthy community of Mediterranean organisms. Sponges and tunicates coat the hull, while fish have adopted the compact structure as habitat. The tug's small size concentrates marine life effectively, with more species per square metre than many larger wrecks. The advanced rating reflects the depth and the overhead environment within the wheelhouse and engine room. The compact interior spaces require good buoyancy control and awareness of contact hazards. Visibility ranges from 15 to 25 metres. Water temperatures from 15 to 26 degrees. Tug 2 adds another intimate wreck experience to Malta's diverse portfolio.
