Halloween Reef on San Salvador is an intermediate site named for the vivid orange and black color scheme created by orange cup corals and dark volcanic rock formations. The reef sits atop an ancient volcanic substrate that gives the underwater landscape a unique dark character unlike typical Bahamian sites. Bright orange elephant ear sponges and tube sponges contrast against the dark rock, while schools of creole wrasse and blue chromis add movement to the scene. The unusual geology and vibrant colors make this a photographer's paradise.
