Mexico Rocks is one of Ambergris Caye's most beloved snorkel and dive sites, a protected marine reserve featuring massive coral formations rising from the lagoon floor. The site is characterized by towering coral heads of boulder star coral and brain coral, some reaching nearly to the surface. The gaps between these giants create sheltered corridors teeming with parrotfish, wrasses, and juvenile fish of every species. Green turtles are resident here, grazing on algae-covered rocks. The calm lagoon conditions and shallow depth make Mexico Rocks an ideal introduction to Belize's incredible marine biodiversity.
