SS Saganaga Wreck off Newfoundland is a beginner-accessible portion of a World War II freighter torpedoed in the Battle of the St. Lawrence. The shallower sections of this wreck lie at recreational depths, making it one of the more accessible wartime wrecks in the region. The upper structure is well-colonized by cold-water anemones, kelp, and encrusting organisms that attract diverse fish life. Atlantic cod, cunner, and sculpin are commonly seen around the wreck. The historical context of the Battle of the St. Lawrence adds poignancy to this dive, connecting divers with a little-known chapter of World War II naval warfare.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
