Isla Barú is an advanced dive to 37 meters around this island south of Cartagena in Colombia's Caribbean. The island's reef system drops into deep waters with impressive wall sections covered in sea fans, barrel sponges, and hard coral species. The deeper profiles attract larger marine species including reef sharks, eagle rays, and schools of horse-eye jacks. Isla Barú's position between the open Caribbean and the coastal shelf creates productive diving conditions, making it one of the premier advanced dive destinations accessible from Cartagena.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
