Palitos (Little Sticks) is an intermediate dive to 24 meters near the Rosario Islands off Cartagena. Named for the stick-like pillar coral formations that characterize the reef, this site features an interesting underwater landscape with tall coral columns, sea fans, and sponge gardens. Schools of snappers, grunts, and creole wrasse inhabit the reef structure, while nurse sharks and moray eels rest in the rocky overhangs. The moderate depth and varied topography make Palitos a rewarding intermediate dive in Colombia's premier Caribbean marine park.
