Bloody Reef is a beginner-friendly dive on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast near Manzanillo in the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. This shallow reef features vibrant coral formations with brain corals, elkhorn coral, and sea fans supporting a rich Caribbean reef community. Schools of blue tangs, parrotfish, and angelfish move through the coral structures, while moray eels and lobsters hide in the crevices. The calm, protected waters of the refuge offer excellent visibility and gentle conditions, making Bloody Reef an ideal dive for exploring Costa Rica's less-visited but ecologically rich Caribbean underwater world.
