Cueva de los Peces (Cave of the Fish) is an advanced dive in the Bay of Pigs area on Cuba's southern coast. This famous inland cenote sits just meters from the Caribbean shoreline, plunging over 70 meters deep into the limestone bedrock. The cenote connects to the ocean through underwater tunnels, allowing marine fish to swim into the freshwater pool and creating a remarkable ecosystem where reef fish coexist with freshwater species. The crystal-clear water offers extraordinary visibility, and the cave passages feature dramatic geological formations. While the open cenote pool is accessible to snorkelers, the cave penetration and deep sections require advanced technical diving certification.
