Sponge Forest is an advanced shore dive to 30 meters on Curaçao's western coast. This spectacular site features an underwater forest of giant barrel sponges, tube sponges, and rope sponges growing to extraordinary sizes on the deep reef slope. The dense sponge formations create a unique ecosystem supporting diverse marine life including flamingo tongue snails, arrow crabs, and small fish sheltering among the sponge structures. The deeper sections attract groupers, barracuda, and eagle rays. The significant depth and sloping terrain require advanced certification, but Sponge Forest offers one of the most visually dramatic and biologically unique dive experiences on Curaçao's leeward coast.
