Alssundbroen is a beginner-friendly dive site in southern Denmark, located beneath the Alssund Bridge connecting the island of Als to the Jutland mainland. This sheltered sound offers calm, accessible diving in the brackish waters where the Baltic and North Sea influences meet. The seabed features a mix of sand, gravel, and mussel beds, with kelp and seaweed providing habitat for flatfish, cod, wrasses, and crabs. The bridge pilings create interesting artificial reef structures colonized by mussels, anemones, and hydroids. Visibility varies with tidal and weather conditions. The easy shore entry and protected location make Alssundbroen a popular introductory dive site for Danish diving schools in the Sønderborg area.
