
Barranco is a beginner-friendly dive site off Santa Cruz Island in the Galápagos, reaching 18 meters depth. Named after the cliff face above, the underwater terrain mirrors the dramatic topography with stepped volcanic ledges descending into clear blue water. Marine iguanas can be seen diving and feeding on algae, a spectacle unique to the Galápagos. Sea lions, turtles, and schools of Galápagos grunts are constant companions. The sheltered position offers reliable conditions for experiencing quintessential Galápagos marine life.
