
Makauwa Surnaka is an advanced offshore reef in the Hamata area of Egypt's deep south Red Sea. This remote pinnacle offers pristine wall diving with impressive gorgonian gardens and vibrant soft coral formations. The site is frequented by grey reef sharks, hammerheads, and large schools of pelagic fish. The reef top features a colorful coral garden where turtles rest between dives into the blue. Accessible only during liveaboard expeditions, this site exemplifies the wild, untouched nature of Egypt's southern reefs.
