Rocky Island East is an advanced dive on the eastern wall of the remote Rocky Island in Egypt's deep south Red Sea. The sheer wall drops vertically into the abyss with some of the most pristine soft coral coverage in the world. Enormous gorgonian fans and black coral bushes decorate the wall face. Rocky Island is legendary for its shark populations — hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, silky sharks, and grey reef sharks are all regularly encountered. The eastern wall's exposure to open ocean currents means conditions can be challenging but the rewards are unparalleled.
