The Alternatives

The Alternatives is an intermediate dive site in the Strait of Gubal, Egypt's Red Sea, consisting of several coral pinnacles rising from the deep. Each pinnacle is blanketed in vibrant soft corals and sea fans, with schools of anthias creating orange clouds around the formations. Napoleon wrasse, turtles, and barracuda frequent the site. The moderate currents between the pinnacles create interesting drift diving opportunities. A versatile and rewarding dive that offers both macro subjects on the corals and bigger pelagic encounters in the blue.
