Charco Verde is a scenic beginner-friendly dive site on the southwestern coast of La Palma, named after the emerald-green natural pool formed in the volcanic rocks. The underwater landscape features dramatic black lava formations descending into crystal-clear Atlantic waters, with arches, small caves, and crevices that shelter a wealth of marine life. Green sea turtles are regular visitors, grazing on the algae-covered rocks, while damselfish, parrotfish, and barber fish create a lively underwater scene. The volcanic topography offers excellent opportunities for underwater photography, and the relatively sheltered position provides comfortable diving conditions for most of the year.
