Piedra de En Medio is an intermediate dive site off La Herradura on the Costa Tropical, reaching 22 meters depth around a prominent rock formation in the middle of the bay. This central boulder serves as a waypoint for navigating the bay's underwater landscape and a concentrated habitat for marine life. The rock's crevices shelter moray eels, octopuses, and scorpionfish, while its surface is colonized by sponges, sea squirts, and algae. Schools of bream and wrasse circle the formation, and the surrounding sandy bottom may yield cuttlefish and flatfish sightings. The site's position provides good conditions in most weather, making it a versatile choice for intermediate-level divers.
