Punta de El Lajial is an advanced dive site off the southwestern coast of El Hierro, reaching 40 meters depth along one of the island's most dramatic volcanic coastlines. The underwater landscape mirrors the raw lava fields above, with massive basalt formations, tubes, and ridges descending steeply into the deep Atlantic. The exposed position brings powerful currents that support rich pelagic life including hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and large schools of amberjack. The volcanic walls are decorated with black coral, gorgonians, and impressive sponge gardens. The remote access, extreme depth, and challenging conditions reserve Punta de El Lajial for experienced divers exploring El Hierro's wild and pristine underwater frontier.
