Hval Wreck is an advanced Baltic Sea wreck dive in Southern Finland, featuring the remains of the Hval, a vessel that met its end in the Gulf of Finland's treacherous waters. The wreck sits upright on the seabed, its structure remarkably preserved by the cold, low-salinity Baltic waters that slow decomposition. Blue mussels and hydroids decorate the hull, while schools of Baltic herring drift around the superstructure. Penetration diving is possible for those with proper wreck training. Cold water temperatures of 2-6°C at depth make thermal protection critical, and the site requires boat access from the Finnish coast.
