Iso Tilijärvi is a beginner-friendly freshwater lake dive in the Finnish Lakeland of Southern Finland. This glacial lake offers remarkably clear water, especially in spring and early summer when visibility can exceed 10 metres. The gently sloping lakebed features sandy and rocky substrates interspersed with aquatic plant meadows. Perch, roach, and pike inhabit the lake, and crayfish can be found hiding among the rocks. The peaceful underwater environment makes it an ideal training site and a perfect introduction to the unique world of Finnish lake diving, with easy shore access and minimal currents.
