Kinissaari is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Finnish archipelago of Southern Finland, in the Baltic Sea. This Nordic diving destination offers a completely different experience from warm-water diving, with cool brackish waters harboring a unique mix of freshwater and saltwater species. The underwater landscape features granite rock formations, sandy bottoms, and Baltic seaweed forests where pike, perch, and Baltic herring can be observed. The site may also reveal remnants of maritime history, as the Finnish archipelago is rich in shipwrecks. Summer diving offers the best conditions with water temperatures reaching comfortable levels and visibility improving significantly. A drysuit is recommended for most of the year.
