Black Beacon

Black Beacon is an advanced dive site off Vanua Levu, Fiji's second-largest island, where a deep pinnacle rises from the ocean floor and attracts impressive pelagic action. The beacon-shaped seamount creates upwellings that draw nutrients and plankton, bringing in grey reef sharks, hammerheads, and schools of barracuda and tuna. The pinnacle's walls are covered in black coral trees and vibrant soft corals that pulse in the current. Strong currents are common, making this a site for experienced divers comfortable with blue-water conditions. The remote location and powerful marine encounters make Black Beacon one of Vanua Levu's most thrilling advanced dives.
