The Togo is a historic wreck dive located off the coast between Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime in the Var department. This cargo steamship sank in the early 20th century and has become one of the notable deep dives in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Resting at depth on a sandy bottom, the wreck's iron structure has been transformed into a vibrant artificial reef hosting dense colonies of gorgonians, bryozoans, and sponges. Large conger eels, groupers, and octopuses inhabit the hull, while schools of damselfish swirl above the superstructure. An advanced dive due to depth and occasional currents, the Togo rewards experienced divers with excellent marine biodiversity.
