Bial is an advanced cave diving site in the Midi-Pyrénées, France, featuring a submerged siphon in the Pyrenean limestone karst. The site demands full cave diving qualifications and proper redundant equipment for safe exploration of the overhead environment. Crystal-clear spring water provides excellent visibility within the passages, revealing sculpted limestone walls and geological formations created by millennia of water erosion. The tight passages and cold water (8-10°C) add to the technical challenge. Bial is part of the exceptional concentration of cave diving sites in the French Pyrenees that attracts speleological divers from across Europe seeking underground exploration at its most challenging.
