Lac d'Aressy is an intermediate freshwater lake dive near Pau in the Midi-Pyrénées of France, offering accessible diving at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains. This former gravel quarry has filled with groundwater, creating a pleasant lake with good visibility and a varied underwater landscape of gentle slopes, submerged trees, and aquatic vegetation. Fish including carp, perch, and pike inhabit the lake. The moderate depth profile and calm conditions make it suitable for training dives and recreational exploration. The backdrop of the snow-capped Pyrenees visible from the surface adds to the site's appeal. Lac d'Aressy provides a comfortable alternative to the region's demanding cave diving sites.
