Marchepied

Marchepied is an advanced cave diving site in the Midi-Pyrénées of France, where a karst siphon provides access to submerged limestone galleries. The name, meaning 'stepping stool' in French, may refer to the site's access characteristics. Full cave diving certification is mandatory for this overhead environment, where passages vary in size and demand careful navigation. The pristine groundwater flowing through the limestone offers excellent visibility when undisturbed, revealing the detailed erosion patterns and mineral deposits that line the cave walls.
