Carnoch Bay at Ballachulish is a deep shore dive in Loch Leven, a sea loch in the Scottish Highlands near Glencoe. The site plunges steeply to 50 meters, making it one of the deepest accessible shore dives in the area. The loch walls are adorned with plumose anemones, dead men's fingers soft corals, and dense hydroid colonies. Deeper sections harbor langoustines, squat lobsters, and occasional visiting cod. The dramatic mountain scenery of Glencoe visible from the surface adds to the atmosphere. The advanced rating reflects the extreme depth, cold temperatures, and limited visibility typical of Highland sea lochs. Carnoch Bay is a serious dive for experienced cold-water divers exploring the western Scottish Highlands.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
