Porthkerris Beach is a shore dive site on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, serving as the primary access point for the famous Manacles reef system. The sheltered cove provides a beginner-friendly entry to a rocky reef environment rich in marine life. Kelp-covered boulders, sandy gullies, and rocky outcrops host wrasse, cuttlefish, spider crabs, and numerous nudibranch species. The site is home to a dive center that runs shore and boat operations. Shore dives from Porthkerris offer gradually increasing depth and complexity, while boat trips reach the deeper Manacles sites. The combination of easy beach access, reliable conditions, and proximity to world-class offshore diving makes Porthkerris a cornerstone of Cornish diving.
