Caye Ronde is the most celebrated reef in the heart of the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin National Park, a coral circle bordered by a wide white-sand band with seagrass meadows on the outside. Depths range from around 13 metres on the top of the reef down to 25 metres where the sand takes over. The entire site is inside the reserve, which shows in the fauna density: groupers hold territory under every major bommie, barracudas move in small patrols, and queen angelfish plus parrotfish of several species work the coral all day. A classic first-or-second dive for divers who want the feel of a working marine reserve.
