Pierre aux Anges sits on the southern border of the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin reserve, just inside protected waters. The site is a large coral block rising from sand at around 30 metres up to a shoulder at 18 metres, and the name (Angels' Stone) comes from the queen and French angelfish that hold territory around the rock in healthy numbers. Eagle rays pass on the outer side, groupers tuck into the ledges, and barracudas sometimes gather in loose shoals above the structure. Advanced Open Water and a comfortable grasp of buoyancy at depth are the honest baseline.
