Camping is a beginner-friendly shore dive along the Athenian Riviera near Varkiza. Named after a nearby camping ground, this accessible site offers an easy entry from the rocky shore to a gentle underwater slope. The reef features scattered boulders and rock formations over sand, with healthy Posidonia meadows in the shallows. Marine life is surprisingly diverse for a site so close to Athens: octopus, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, wrasse, and blennies are regularly encountered. Sea bream graze among the seagrass, and the occasional moray eel peeks from the rocks. The calm conditions and shallow profile make it ideal for training dives and night diving. A convenient urban dive site with more life than expected.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
