Devil Hole is an advanced dive site along the Athenian Riviera near Vouliagmeni in the Attica region. This dramatic underwater formation features a deep vertical shaft that drops steeply through the limestone bedrock, creating an otherworldly diving environment. The shaft walls are covered with encrusting sponges and organisms that thrive in the low-light conditions. At depth, the hole opens into wider chambers where lobsters, large scorpionfish, and moray eels reside. The surrounding reef features typical Mediterranean marine life including groupers, wrasse, and octopus. The confined nature of the hole and significant depth make proper training and equipment essential. A thrilling dive for experienced divers seeking something extraordinary near Athens.
