Black Rock is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Cyclades near Naxos, named for a distinctive dark-coloured rock formation that rises from the seabed. This volcanic-origin rock creates an interesting diving feature with its contrasting dark surfaces against the typical white Cycladic sand. The rock and surrounding reef support colourful Mediterranean marine life: wrasse, damselfish, and blennies populate the crevices, while octopus and nudibranchs provide macro subjects. The dark rock surface hosts unique encrusting organisms and contrasts beautifully with the bright sponges that colonize it. Excellent visibility in the clear Cycladic waters enhances the visual experience. A scenic and easy dive suitable for all levels.
