Cave Island is a beginner-friendly dive site near Kos in the Dodecanese, centered around a small islet known for its accessible sea caves. The caves have wide, light-filled entrances that allow safe exploration without cave diving certification. Inside, colourful sponges and encrusting organisms decorate the walls, while shrimp and small crabs inhabit the darker recesses. Outside the caves, the islet's underwater slopes offer a gentle reef dive with wrasse, damselfish, octopus, and moray eels. The combination of easy cave exploration and open-water reef diving in the warm Dodecanese waters makes Cave Island a versatile and popular dive site for visiting divers.
