Trigger Reef is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Dodecanese islands of Greece, near the island of Kos. Named for the triggerfish occasionally spotted here — an unusual sighting in Greek waters — this reef features a gentle slope of rocky formations over sand at accessible depths. The reef supports a healthy Mediterranean community: wrasse, damselfish, and sea bream are abundant, while octopus and moray eels occupy the crevices. The site's name hints at the influence of warmer eastern Mediterranean currents that occasionally bring subtropical species this far north. Clear Dodecanese waters provide good visibility, and the easy conditions make it a reliable dive for all levels.
