Aghios Petros is a beginner-friendly dive site in the North Aegean near the Sporades islands. Named after the chapel of Saint Peter on the nearby shore, this sheltered site offers easy access to a gentle reef slope rich in Mediterranean marine life. Rocky outcrops covered with sponges and algae provide habitat for wrasse, damselfish, and sea bream. Octopus are plentiful in the crevices, and the Posidonia seagrass beds that border the site shelter seahorses and pipefish. The clear Aegean waters provide good visibility, and the calm conditions make it a popular choice for new divers and training courses run by local dive centers throughout the summer season.
