Manta Ridge is an intermediate dive site in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, reaching 20 meters at a cleaning station where reef manta rays are regularly encountered. The underwater ridge creates an upwelling that brings plankton-rich water, attracting mantas that circle the cleaning stations where cleaner wrasse remove parasites. Divers settle on the ridge and watch in awe as these graceful giants glide overhead, sometimes in groups of five or more. The surrounding reef is rich with hard corals and reef fish, but the manta encounters are the unforgettable highlight that makes this one of Indonesia's most iconic dive sites.
