Pink Beach is a unique dive site on the eastern coast of Komodo Island, named for the distinctive pink-tinged sand created by fragments of red organ-pipe coral mixing with white sand. The underwater scenery matches the beach's beauty, with a gently sloping reef featuring exceptional hard coral coverage in pristine condition. Staghorn corals, table corals, and massive brain corals create a complex reef structure teeming with colorful reef fish, nudibranchs, and juvenile species using the coral nursery. Green turtles graze in the shallows, mantis shrimp peek from their burrows, and the occasional reef shark cruises past. The shallow, calm waters and easy beach entry make Pink Beach one of Komodo's most relaxed dive sites, perfect for all experience levels, snorkelers, and underwater photographers seeking a colorful, photogenic reef in an idyllic tropical setting.
