Banco di Santacroce is a submerged seamount rising from the depths off the Campania coast near Sorrento, creating a biodiversity hotspot in the Gulf of Naples. The pinnacle reaches up from 40 meters to within 12 meters of the surface, its walls encrusted with Mediterranean red coral, bright sponges, and dense gorgonian forests. Schools of barracuda and amberjack circle the summit while moray eels peer from rocky crevices. Suitable for beginners who stay on the shallow top, with deeper explorations for more experienced divers.
