Acqua Dolce is a beginner-friendly dive site along Sardinia's eastern coast, named after a freshwater spring that seeps into the sea creating interesting temperature and salinity gradients. The rocky reef features Posidonia meadows, scattered boulders, and sandy patches hosting typical Mediterranean species. Octopus, cuttlefish, and nudibranchs are frequently spotted, while the freshwater mixing zone attracts unusual concentrations of marine life. The sheltered setting and moderate depth make this an excellent site for training dives, with the freshwater spring adding a unique natural phenomenon to discover.
