Cataratta Shoal is a beginner-friendly dive site off Favignana in the Egadi Islands, where a submerged rocky ridge creates interesting underwater topography at accessible depths. The reef features small walls, boulder gardens, and sandy channels populated with typical Mediterranean species. Damselfish, wrasse, and parrotfish color the scene, while the sandy areas may reveal flatfish and rays. The marine reserve protection ensures healthy ecosystems and abundant fish life. Combined with Favignana's legendary water clarity, this makes for a relaxing and visually rewarding dive for all certification levels.
