Grotta dei Gamberi is a beginner-friendly cave dive on the island of Favignana in Sicily's Egadi archipelago, named for the shrimp that inhabit its dark recesses. The cave entrance is wide and well-lit, allowing easy access to a chamber where red shrimp, sponges, and encrusting organisms thrive in the low-light environment. Outside the cave, the Favignana reef hosts a rich Mediterranean ecosystem with excellent visibility. The Egadi Islands marine reserve ensures pristine conditions, making this an atmospheric and educational dive combining cave exploration with the archipelago's remarkable marine biodiversity.
