Ninfeo at the Parco Archeologico Sommerso di Baia is a breathtaking shallow dive exploring a submerged Roman nymphaeum — an ornate sanctuary dedicated to water nymphs — in the volcanic Campi Flegrei area near Naples. Divers glide over exquisite mosaic floors, marble columns, and decorative niches that once held statues, all resting just meters below the surface due to volcanic bradyseism. Marine life has gently colonized the ancient stonework without obscuring its beauty. This is perhaps Italy's most emotionally powerful underwater archaeological experience, where the splendor of imperial Rome is preserved beneath the waves.
