Portalga is a beginner dive site along the Puglia coastline in the Salento area, where low rocky reefs and sandy patches create a varied underwater landscape typical of the southern Adriatic. Octopus and cuttlefish are regular encounters among the boulders, while meadows of Posidonia oceanica shelter pipefish and juvenile fish. The shallow, protected nature of the site makes it perfect for training dives and first open-water experiences. Summer visibility ranges from 10 to 20 meters with warm, comfortable water temperatures.
