Japanese Garden is one of Aqaba's most beloved dive sites, named for the meticulously arranged coral formations that evoke the harmonious aesthetics of a traditional Japanese garden. The reef features an extraordinary variety of hard corals — table corals, staghorn formations, massive brain corals, and delicate finger corals — arranged in naturally terraced levels that cascade down a gentle slope. Soft corals in pastel shades of lavender, pink, and yellow add artistic flourishes throughout. The coral diversity supports an equally impressive fish population: pairs of bannerfish, schools of surgeonfish, parrotfish families, and the ever-present anthias clouds. Green turtles are frequent visitors, and eagle rays occasionally glide over the reef. The site's beauty, biodiversity, and accessible conditions make it popular with divers and snorkelers alike, representing the very best of what Aqaba's protected Red Sea coastline has to offer.
