HMS Nasturtium is an advanced wreck dive off Malta's far east coast, where a World War I Flower-class corvette rests on the Mediterranean seabed. This historic vessel, one of the older wrecks accessible in Maltese waters, provides a link to the first great naval conflict of the twentieth century. The corvette's remains lie on the sandy bottom with substantial structural elements still identifiable. The vessel's modest size reflects the Flower-class design, which served as convoy escorts and minesweepers during the Great War. The hull, engine components, and deck structures provide exploration points, though the wreck has deteriorated significantly over more than a century of submersion. Marine colonisation has been extensive, with the wreck functioning as a mature artificial reef. Dense growth of sponges, tunicates, and encrusting organisms coat every surface, and the marine life density around the wreck is impressive. The advanced rating reflects the depth, the far offshore location on Malta's exposed east coast, and the deteriorated wreck structure. The site is rarely dived due to its remote position, adding genuine exploration character. HMS Nasturtium is a rewarding dive for wreck history enthusiasts willing to venture to Malta's less-visited eastern waters.
