Berggylteskär

Berggyltesskär is a beginner-friendly dive site on Sweden's west coast in the Bohuslän archipelago, where the rocky islet creates a sheltered underwater environment that provides an excellent introduction to Scandinavian cold-water diving. Flatfish rest camouflaged on the sandy patches between rock formations. Crustacean life adds fascination to the diving. Edible crabs and shore crabs scuttle between the rocks, while lobsters extend their antennae from deeper crevices. Shrimp of various species dart through the kelp canopy, their translucent bodies catching whatever light penetrates to their depth. Berggyltesskär's accessible conditions and representative marine community make it an ideal introduction to the rich cold-water diving that Sweden's Bohuslän coast offers.
