Jupiter, Florida on the northern Palm Beach coast is one of Southeast Florida's premier diving destinations — a stretch of Atlantic coast where a unique combination of factors has created an extraordinary marine environment: the Gulf Stream runs exceptionally close to shore, water temperatures remain warm year-round, the visibility is among the best on the East Coast, and the resident marine life includes some of the most spectacular concentrations of large animals found in North American Atlantic waters. The Jupiter Atlantic Ocean diving scene is built around a cluster of ledge reefs, artificial wrecks, and open-water sites within a relatively compact area accessible from Jupiter and Tequesta boat ramps. Jupiter is perhaps most famous for its enormous resident population of goliath grouper, which gather at specific sites — particularly the nearshore ledges and artificial reefs — in numbers that are genuinely staggering, with dozens of individuals sometimes visible on a single dive. These enormous fish, some exceeding 400 pounds, interact with divers with remarkable equanimity, hovering at arm's length and peering into camera lenses with the calm confidence of animals that have never been threatened. Lemon sharks are another signature Jupiter species — large, powerful reef sharks that are reliably encountered cruising the ledge system with assertive territorial behavior that puts their presence in an entirely different register from the passive nurse sharks of the deeper offshore reefs. Bull sharks appear in the area seasonally. The beginner rating reflects the relatively shallow depths of many Jupiter sites and the generally calm inshore character, though the presence of large sharks and strong current at some sites means divers should have appropriate experience and judgment. Jupiter is a world-class diving destination that rewards extended exploration.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
