
The Wedge is an advanced dive site on the outer Great Barrier Reef near Cairns, Queensland. This dramatic reef formation features a wedge-shaped coral wall that drops into deep blue water. Strong currents sweep nutrients along the wall, attracting impressive aggregations of pelagic fish, reef sharks, and occasional eagle rays. The wall is adorned with sea fans, whip corals, and vibrant soft corals. This site demands solid dive experience due to depth, currents, and open ocean conditions.
