Grand Bogue at Turneffe Islands is a beginner-friendly lagoon dive in the calm, shallow waters inside the atoll. The site features extensive seagrass beds and patch reefs that serve as critical nursery habitat for juvenile fish and invertebrates. Baby barracuda, tiny groupers, and juvenile angelfish hide among the seagrass blades while conch graze on the sandy bottom. Manatees occasionally visit the area, and the shallow seagrass beds attract green turtles and spotted eagle rays. The protected lagoon setting with no current and unlimited visibility makes this a perfect training site and a fascinating ecological exploration.
